Accessibility

The new revision of the 2010 BIP is designed to be as accessibile to all users as possible, and aims to be fully DDA compliant (with level AA) by the finished revision.

One method of accessibility provided by this website is in the form of access keys, which are keyboard shortcuts to certain key menu or navigation links. These access keys are designed to help those users who may have difficulty using pointing devices such as a mouse.

To the right is a list of the access keys currently in use on this website.

Depending upon your browser, you can access the keyboard shortcuts as described below:

Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 - hold down alt and the letter/number at the same time.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 and above - hold down alt and the letter/number at the same time, then press the enter key.

Mozilla 1.6 and above, Netscape 6 and above - hold down alt and the letter/number at the same time.

Visual Design

  • this website uses cascading style sheets (CSS) for visual layout
  • only relative font sizes are used, compatible with the user-specified "text size" option in visual browsers
  • if your browser or browsing device used does not support stylesheets at all, the content of each page is still readable and comprehensible
