Results of the 2010 BIP User Needs Survey

Posted: 1 July 2009

The results of the 2009 2010 BIP User Needs Survey are now available to view online. The User Needs Survey generated global interest, with 398 respondents from 87 countries taking part. The  Survey provided an opportunity for the Partnership to gain public opinion on both the usability of the 2010 BIP as well as suggested improvements. Review of the responses has lead to the generation of a number of action points for the 2010 BIP which will help to improve the delivery of the biodiversity indicators over the next year in the run up to the 10th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP 10).

Issue 5 of BIPNews: Now Available Online!

Posted: 30 June 2009

The latest version of the 2010 BIP Newsletter, BIPNews is now available to view online.  For the first time BIPNews is available in Japanese, as well as the 6 UN languages. This is in response to CBD COP 10, an important event for the 2010 BIP being held in Japan next year, and from now on all key 2010 BIP publications will also be available in Japanese.

The 2010 BIP has been working tirelessly over the last few month’s to increase awareness and promote the Partnership, including hosting a side event at the 3rd Governing Body of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources and re-launching the new improved 2010 BIP website. The next few months will also be an interesting time for the Partnership with the upcoming Expert Workshop on 2010 biodiversity indicators and post-2010 indicator development and a host of regional biodiversity indicator capacity building workshops.

Read all about this progress, and more, in Issue 5 of BIPNews.
